This is an exciting opportunity to join the Patient Access Service at a pivotal time, supporting the opening of the Surgical Elective Centre (SEC). As Orthopaedic Spinal elective activity expands within the Neurosciences Directorate, the post holder will play a central role in ensuring patients receive timely and effective access to care. They will provide leadership to the Directorate's Elective Access and Waiting List Teams, overseeing the Patient Tracking Lists (PTLs), driving best practice in waiting list management, and supporting the delivery of access targets and an excellent patient experience., The Elective Access Team Leader will support the Patient Access Manager, who, in conjunction with the Deputy Operational Services Manager, is responsible for the management and delivery of Referral to Treatment (RTT) and Cancer Access standards across assigned services. The post holder will lead the Directorate's Elective Access and Waiting List Teams and oversee the associated Patient Tracking Lists (PTLs), ensuring effective waiting-list management and timely progression of patients through their pathways. The role will be particularly important in supporting the Patient Access Service as the Surgical Elective Centre (SEC) comes on board. The post holder will work closely with clinical services to ensure consistent clinical prioritisation and chronological booking across outpatient and inpatient activity, while providing effective coordination and oversight of the additional activity and pathways generated through this service expansion.
