Job summary

The Princess Alexandra Hospital NHS Trust in West Essex is seeking a Band 3 Therapy Assistant to join the Care of the Elderly Therapy Team. You will work within a dedicated multidisciplinary group to support older adults to regain independence, mobility and rehabilitation goals, under supervision of physiotherapists and occupational therapists.

This full-time post involves a 7-day rota, a focus on safe manual handling, equipment setup and discharge planning, and opportunities for CPD toward Band

Qualifications

• Band 3 generic assistant competencies are required.
• Experience working in an elderly care or rehabilitation setting is desirable.
• Effective communication and compassionate patient care are essential.

Responsibilities

• Assist Therapy team with information gathering, treatments, goals and discharge planning.
• Use manual handling equipment such as hoists and transfer aids safely.
• Assess and help select basic equipment like commodes and perching stools.
• Attend relevant training and pursue CPD to achieve Band 3 competencies.
