Job summary

University Hospitals Dorset is seeking a Band 3 Therapy Assistant to join the Inpatient Stroke Therapy Team on a part-time basis (34.5 hours a week). The role involves rehabilitation with stroke patients and promoting independence, working with multidisciplinary colleagues, and supporting groups and discharge planning.

Flexibility is required for a 1 in 6 weekend pattern. The successful candidate will hold NVQ III Care or equivalent and have prior hospital experience, with basic IT skills and a

Qualifications

• NVQ III Care or equivalent is required.
• Experience in a hospital setting is essential.
• Basic IT skills and the ability to use IT in a healthcare context.

Responsibilities

• Promote stroke recovery and carry out rehabilitation as directed by the MDT.
• Promote independence in balance, mobility, activity, communication and daily living tasks.
• Support running of therapy groups and discharge planning.
• Assist with administrative tasks and service improvements within the stroke team.
• Work across a 7-day rota to meet service demands.
