Job summary

The Princess Alexandra Hospital NHS Trust in Essex is seeking a Band 3 Therapy Assistant to join the Care of the Elderly Therapy Team. The role involves working alongside Physiotherapists and Occupational Therapists to support older adults to regain independence and mobility.

You will contribute to delivering patient-centred care across a 7-day rota, participate in training, and help with discharge planning.

Responsibilities

• To work in an integrated way to assist the Therapy team in information gathering, delivering treatments, agreeing patient goals and to support with discharge planning.
• To be confident in using a wide variety of equipment to support treatments such as hoist, sliding sheets, rota stand, sliding board and walking aids.
• To assess and prescribe basic equipment where required such as commodes and bedsides.
• To attend all relevant training and ensure ongoing CPD towards achieving band 3 competencies.
