Job summary

The Grove Skellingthorpe Care Centre in Lincolnshire is seeking a reliable cook to join our busy kitchen team. You will prepare nutritious meals, support residents with traditional dishes, and work within home budgets.

Applicants should have relevant catering qualifications, enjoy cooking for the elderly, and be willing to undergo an enhanced DBS/PVG check. The role includes flexible hours around a 27-hour week and weekend shifts.

Qualifications

• Good verbal and written communication with residents and colleagues.
• Understanding of caterings for elderly care settings.
• Minimum NVQ Level 2 in Catering or equivalent required or preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve meals and beverages as required.
• Follow home policies and maintain hygiene standards.
• Order and manage food resources within budget as set by the home manager.
• Maintain cleanliness and hygiene records and COSHH awareness.
• Attend mandatory in-house training and report issues to the Care Centre Manager.
