Aspire Recruitment is recruiting an experienced EHS Supervisor for a major site in the North of England. Based at one of the client’s largest facilities, you will lead the EHS programmes, ensure regulatory compliance, and embed a proactive safety culture across the site.

You will oversee EHS training, manage ISO 14001 systems, develop site KPIs, and drive continuous improvement with plant leadership and central EHS functions.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor degree in Environmental Management, Safety, Engineering or related field.
  • 5–10 years’ experience in an EHS/ QHSE or safety role within manufacturing/industrial environment.
  • Strong knowledge of UK environmental and safety regulations (air, water, waste).
  • Proven experience delivering EHS training and influencing operational teams.
  • Professional health & safety or environmental certification.
  • Experience maintaining ISO management systems.
  • Understanding of industrial processes and process safety.
  • Strong data analysis, reporting, and auditing skills.

Responsibilities

  • Always providing an excellent level of customer service, mainly in assisting insurance related queries and administrative policies.
  • Lead visible EHS leadership through site presence, inspections, audits and reviews.
  • Ensure full compliance with UK environmental, health and safety legislation.
  • Lead and maintain site EHS management systems, including ISO 14001 certification.
  • Develop and implement site‑specific EHS strategies, objectives, and KPIs.
  • Deliver engaging EHS training for employees, contractors, and leadership teams.
  • Lead incident investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective actions.
  • Manage environmental permits, water discharge consents, and regulatory reporting.
  • Oversee waste management programs (hazardous and non-hazardous) and contractor compliance.
  • Drive a proactive EHS culture through coaching, engagement, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Monitor performance trends and recommend actions to reduce risk and improve compliance.

EHS (Environmental, Health & Safety) Supervisor

Salary - £40,000-£60,000 per annum (dependant on experience)

Hours – Full time, permanent contract. Mon-Fri

We are currently recruiting for an EHS Supervisor, to be based at one of the client’s biggest sites in the North of England. This is a fantastic opportunity to work with a well-known, globally based environmental consultancy. In this role, you will be required to supervise and lead the EHS programmes, which will include: combine site presence with strategic influence, work closely with plant leadership and central EHS functions to ensure regulatory compliance, drive continuous improvement, and embed a strong, proactive safety culture across the site.

Additional responsibilities include:
  • Always providing an excellent level of customer service, mainly in the assisting of insurance related queries and administrative policies.

Qualifications / Skills Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Environmental Management, Safety, Engineering, Chemistry, or a related discipline
  • 5–10 years’ experience in an EHS, QHSE, or safety role within a manufacturing or industrial environment
  • Strong working knowledge of UK environmental and safety regulations (air, water, waste)
  • Proven experience delivering EHS training and influencing operational teams
  • Professional health & safety or environmental certification
  • Experience maintaining ISO management systems
  • Understanding of industrial processes and process safety
  • Strong data analysis, reporting, and auditing skills
