Job summary

Azenta Life Sciences in the United Kingdom is seeking a Health, Safety, Environmental and Facilities Specialist to review, develop, implement and monitor the site’s Safety management systems, ensuring staff, visitor and contractor safety.

You will support EHS standards across the business, assist in ISO9001 and ISO13485 audits, and coordinate training, incident investigations, and ESG requests. The role requires proactive collaboration with line managers and contractors.

Qualifications

• Qualified health and safety practitioner with recognised qualification – NEBOSH or equivalent.
• Experience with ISO9001 and ISO13485 quality systems is preferred.
• Ability to present data clearly and engage with diverse stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Review, develop, implement and monitor the site's safety management systems to ensure safety of staff, visitors and contractors.
• Support environmental, health & safety standards across the business and drive continuous improvements.
• Assist in preparation of EHS assessments/management plans and respond to ESG information requests.
• Collaborate with line managers for incident investigations, near-miss reporting and data collection.
• Develop EHS training materials and assist with internal audits for ISO9001, ISO13485 and H&S compliance.
• Maintain H&S notice boards and report KPI data (accidents, incidents, near misses).
• Coordinate SOP development and risk assessments; prepare health & safety training for new starters.
• Act as POC for facility maintenance, outages, weather-related hazards, spills and site BCM drills.
• Organise contractor work, fire drills, and participate in health & safety meetings.
