Job summary

GE Vernova is seeking an EHS Site Manager for a fast-paced manufacturing site in the United Kingdom. You will lead safety, environmental compliance, and risk reduction, embedding proactive EHS practices and strong discipline on the shop floor.

You will partner with production leaders to align EHS priorities with operational demands, drive continuous improvement, and ensure robust investigations and regulatory compliance across ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 frameworks.

Qualifications

• NEBOSH certificate or equivalent professional qualification.
• Significant hands-on EHS experience in manufacturing/industrial environments.
• Strong knowledge of UK health and safety legislation and environmental requirements.
• Experience implementing and auditing ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 management systems.
• Excellent communication and credibility to influence at all levels.

Responsibilities

• Be a visible presence on site, spotting risk early and promoting safety ownership.
• Shift focus from incident response to hazard elimination and proactive controls.
• Partner with operations to improve quality, reduce downtime and reliability.
• Translate EHS strategy into practical site standards and action plans.
• Lead site compliance with UK legislation and ISO standards, including audits.
• Analyse trends, lead indicators, and drive continuous improvement.
• Own EHS risk across operations, including electrical safety and work at height.
• Lead investigations and root cause analyses with practical corrective actions.
• Engage internal stakeholders and regulators to maintain engagement and trust.
• Embed Lean thinking into EHS activities to reduce waste and improve discipline.
