Job summary

Winthrop Technologies Ltd. is seeking an experienced EHS Lead to join the Blyth project in the United Kingdom. You will lead Environmental, Health & Safety activities on site, ensuring regulatory compliance and promoting a strong safety culture across the project’s lifecycle.

You will develop policies, conduct audits, and deliver trainings to site personnel. The role requires 7–10 years in EHS within construction or engineering, NEBOSH/IOSH certifications, and the ability to influence across all

Qualifications

• Degree or diploma in Environmental Health & Safety or similar discipline.
• 7–10 years’ experience in EHS within construction/engineering.
• Strong knowledge of health & safety legislation, standards and best practices.
• Experience managing EHS on large-scale construction projects.
• Essential certifications (e.g., NEBOSH, IOSH).
• Ability to influence and drive a positive safety culture across all levels.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage all Environmental, Health & Safety activities across the project lifecycle.
• Develop, implement, and monitor EHS policies, procedures, and systems.
• Promote a strong safety culture and ensure high safety standards on site.
• Conduct site inspections, audits, and risk assessments to identify and mitigate hazards.
• Coordinate with Project Managers, Construction Managers, and subcontractors on EHS practices.
• Monitor subcontractor compliance with health & safety requirements.
• Review and approve RAMS and other safety documentation.
• Lead incident investigations and implement corrective actions.
• Deliver safety inductions, toolbox talks, and training sessions.
• Maintain records of incidents, audits and safety performance metrics.
