Job summary

Winthrop Technologies, Europe’s dedicated data centre delivery partner, seeks a Project Lead for our Blyth, United Kingdom project. Reporting to the Project Director, you will oversee the full lifecycle from design through construction, ensuring safety, schedule, budget, and quality targets are met.

You will lead multidisciplinary teams, manage subcontractors and stakeholders, drive cost control, and coordinate with engineering and commercial teams to deliver a best-in-class data centre.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years’ experience in a similar role.
• Strong organisational, communication, and time management skills.
• Proficient in MS Word, Excel, and other relevant project management tools.
• Proven ability to lead teams, manage subcontractors, and coordinate multidisciplinary project activities.
• Commercially astute, with a strong understanding of project financial management and cost control.
• Capable of working under pressure to meet demanding schedules while maintaining the highest quality and safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Manage overall project cost, schedule, and budget from inception through to completion.
• Oversee and coordinate subcontractors, vendors, and consultants to ensure seamless execution of project activities.
• Analyse, track, and manage critical milestone activities to prevent schedule delays and ensure timely delivery.
• Review and evaluate construction proposals, pricing, and scopes of work.
• Lead and facilitate client meetings and other required project coordination meetings.
• Monitor and report on factors that influence construction costs, preparing data-driven insights and recommendations.
• Demonstrate knowledge of construction procurement methods and manage long-lead equipment delivery schedules.
• Review, validate, and audit cost estimates prepared by subcontractors and other project stakeholders.
• Support engineering and design decisions related to cost and budget during design-build changes.
• Track and verify equipment availability in line with the project schedule.
• Coordinate and oversee scheduling consultant reviews and ensure integration with project controls.
• Review and approve invoices, payment applications, and retention payments.
• Manage the handover process to the client, including close-out documentation, warranties, and final deliverables.
