Job summary

Suir Engineering is seeking an EHS Advisor for the Interconnect project in Drax, Yorkshire. You will support the EHS Manager to ensure compliance with health, safety and workplace legislation, and work with the project team to implement the Integrated Management System.

The role requires a health and safety qualification with at least 2 years’ experience, strong communication, and the ability to influence at all levels. A valid driving license is essential.

Qualifications

• Relevant Health and Safety Diploma/Degree.
• 2+ years' HSE experience.
• Excellent oral and written communication.
• Full driving license.

Responsibilities

• Assist EHS Manager to ensure we are compliant with Health, Safety & Workplace Legislation.
• Implement the Integrated Management System with Project Manager and Construction Team.
• Set up Site-Specific Construction EHS Plan on site.
• Become SME in High Risk Activities and control on site.
• Develop Risk Assessments & Method Statements and SOPs; train site personnel.
• Promote the Suir Way interfaces with Health & Safety.

We have an exciting opportunity for an EHS Advisor to join Suir Engineering. This position is within our Interconnect project in Drax, Yorkshire

What you will be doing?

• Assist the EHS Manager in achieving Suir’s Critical Success Factor 1. ‘To ensure we are fully compliant in all Health, Safety & Workplace Legislation’
• Work effectively with the Project Manager and Construction Team with the implementation of the Integrated Management System
• Ensure the site is adequately set up with a Site-Specific Construction EHS Plan.
• Become a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in all of Suir’s Hight Risk Activities (HRA’s) and ensure that they are identified and effectively controlled on site.
• Assist with the development of Risk Assessment & Method Statements
• Assist with the development of SOP’s and provide training and communication to site personnel.
• Become familiar with and promote the ‘Suir Way’ and its interfaces with Health & Safety.
• Report and Investigate incidents when they occur and ensure root causes are identified, mitigated and communicated.

Is this the job for me?

• Suitable Candidates must have Relevant Health and Safety Diploma / Degree and Minimum of 2 years’ experience in Environmental Health and Safety role.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to prioritize workload according to deadlines together with a high attention to detail.
• Ability to influence colleagues at all levels.
• Enjoy working as part of a high performing team.
• Experience within EP&R environments is desired but not a must.
• Valid full drivers license & vehicle.
