Job summary

Nottinghamshire County Council seeks two fixed-term EHC Practitioner posts in the Multiagency Alternative Education Team. The role focuses on running the statutory EHCP process for pupils outside mainstream schools, with hybrid working patterns and a 12-month term. Degree-level education or equivalent is required.

You will join a team that collaborates with families and partners to ensure timely, compliant outcomes, with a focus on detailed record-keeping and annual reviews.

Qualifications

• Degree-level education or equivalent is required.
• Experience managing statutory processes and assessments for SEND.
• Strong understanding of the Children and Families Act 2014 and related SEND legislation.
• Knowledge of statutory processes in education, health or social care.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Empathy and understanding when working with families and children.

Responsibilities

• Manage the statutory EHCP process and develop/review plans for timely outcomes.
• Collaborate with families, educational settings and multi‑agency professionals.
• Provide families with clear information on the EHCP process and rights.
• Track progress and coordinate annual reviews for EHCPs.
• Maintain accurate records in line with policy and statutory requirements.
