Job summary

Dovetail & Slate Ltd is recruiting an experienced learning support professional to help learners with EHCPs access education and progress. You will work with teaching staff to build trust, adapt approaches to individual needs and foster confidence and independence.

You will provide one-to-one and small-group support, support EHCP learners, and contribute to a calm, inclusive learning setting that promotes learner engagement and autonomy.

Qualifications

• Experience of supporting learners with special educational needs
• Knowledge and experience of working with learners who have Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCP)
• Understanding of the different social, cultural and physical needs of learners
• Calm and patient approach
• Desirable SEN training (ADHD, dyslexia, autism or SEMH)

Are you an experienced learning support professional who wants to help young people with additional needs get the most from their education?

About the Role

Working with a training provider, you'll support learners with Education, Health and Care Plans, working alongside teaching staff so that every learner can access their programme and make progress.

You'll build positive, trusting relationships with the learners you support, adapting your approach to individual needs and helping them grow in confidence and independence.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Providing one-to-one and small-group support to learners with additional needs.
• Working closely with learners who have Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCP).
• Helping to create a calm, inclusive and supportive learning environment.
• Encouraging learner independence, confidence and engagement with their studies.

What We're Looking For

• Experience of supporting learners with special educational needs
• Knowledge and experience of working with learners who have Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCP)
• An understanding of the different social, cultural and physical needs of learners
• A calm and patient approach

Desirable (but not essential):

• Training in aspects of SEN, such such as ADHD, dyslexia, autism or SEMH
