MacDermid Alpha Electronics Solutions is seeking an EH&S Manager to lead and continuously improve environmental, health, and safety programs at our Wantage site. The role ensures regulatory compliance, protects people and the environment, and fosters a culture of safety across operations.

This on-site position reports to the Supply Chain and Site leadership, with responsibilities spanning strategy development, risk mitigation, incident investigations, training, and stakeholder collaboration.

Qualifications

• Experience leading EH&S programs at a manufacturing/site level.
• Strong knowledge of environmental, health and safety regulations and permits.
• Proven ability to plan, implement and audit EH&S systems and processes.

Responsibilities

• Lead EH&S strategies, policies and procedures aligned with global standards and local regulations.
• Ensure compliance with environmental permits and health & safety legislation; conduct risk assessments and mitigation.
• Investigate EH&S incidents, identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
• Deliver EH&S training programs and engage employees through campaigns and toolbox talks.
• Maintain accurate EH&S performance metrics and regulatory reporting, including IOS 14001 and IATF accreditations.
• Collaborate with production, maintenance, engineering and EH&S teams to support site initiatives.

Who are we looking for?

We are looking for a dedicated and experienced EH&S Manager to lead and continuously improve our environmental, health, and safety programs at our key manufacturing site in Wantage, Oxfordshire. This role is critical to ensuring regulatory compliance, protecting our people and the environment, and fostering a culture of safety and sustainability across all operations.

This is an on-site role reporting to the Supply Chain and Site Dierctor.

What will you be doing?

• EH&S Leadership: Develop, implement, and manage site-wide EH&S strategies, policies, and procedures aligned with global standards and local regulations.
• Compliance & Risk Management: Ensure full compliance with environmental permits, health and safety legislation, and internal standards. Conduct risk assessments and lead mitigation initiatives.
• Incident Management: Lead investigations into EH&S incidents, identify root causes, and implement corrective and preventive actions.
• Training & Engagement: Deliver EH&S training programs and promote employee engagement through safety campaigns, toolbox talks, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Auditing & Reporting: Conduct internal audits, prepare regulatory reports, and maintain accurate records of EH&S performance metrics. Take responsibility for maintaining the business' IOS 14001 and IATF accreditations
• Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with production, maintenance, engineering, and corporate EH&S teams to ensure alignment and support for site initiatives.
