Job summary

SUEZ operates at the Aberdeen EfW site, where shift technicians work 12-hour rotations to keep critical plant systems running safely and efficiently. You’ll contribute to converting waste into energy while adhering to environmental laws and safety standards.

The role requires expertise in mechanical/electrical/process engineering on EfW sites, with opportunities to develop towards relevant certifications and advance within a supportive team. 42-hour weekly average, with generous shift allowances.

Qualifications

• Background in process/plant environment or similar.
• Knowledge of boilers, process control, instrumentation and environmental legislation.
• Process Plant Operations Qualification (Level 1, 2 or 3) or equivalent experience in a chemical or energy facility.
• Holding or willingness to work towards certifications such as BOAS Cert IBO and IOSH Working Safely, with good IT skills.

Responsibilities

• Monitor, control and adjust plant processes to keep operations safe and efficient.
• Manage and sample water tube boilers, analyse results and respond to issues.
• Identify, troubleshoot and resolve process or equipment problems.
• Isolate plant systems when required to maintain safe operations.
• Play an active role in safety, environmental compliance and continuous improvement.

About The Role

What will I be doing?

Working 12-hour shifts (days and nights), you'll help keep our plant running safely and efficiently. You’ll work directly with critical EfW plant systems, helping to convert waste into energy safely, efficiently and in line with environmental legislation.

Your Key Responsibilities Will Include

• Monitoring, controlling and adjusting plant processes to keep operations safe and efficient
• Managing and sampling water tube boilers, analysing results and responding to issues
• Identifying, troubleshooting and resolving process or equipment problems
• Isolating plant systems when required to maintain safe operations
• Playing an active role in safety, environmental compliance and continuous improvement

What are the requirements?
