Matchtech Group is seeking a Process / Plant Operator to support the safe, reliable operation of Effluent Treatment Plants (ETPs). You will handle process control, plant monitoring and provide maintenance support to maintain discharge compliance.

In this permanent role, you’ll monitor SCADA systems, conduct laboratory sampling, review performance data and support optimisation initiatives, while ensuring safety, environmental compliance and on-call flexibility within the operations team.

Formación

• Experience in process or plant operations in water/wastewater.
• Ability to monitor SCADA systems and respond to alarms.
• Knowledge of sampling and laboratory analysis procedures.
• Understanding of maintenance activities and plant data trends.
• Commitment to safe working practices and compliance.
• Willingness to join on-call rota.

Responsabilidades

• Operate, monitor and maintain ETP assets per procedures and permits.

Our client, a leading organisation in the water and wastewater sector, is seeking a Process / Plant Operator to support the safe, reliable and efficient operation of Effluent Treatment Plants (ETPs). This permanent role involves process control, plant monitoring, maintenance support and operational decision-making to maintain optimum performance and discharge compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operating, monitoring and maintaining ETP assets in line with operational procedures and Environmental Agency permit requirements
• Monitoring plant SCADA systems, responding to alarms and making informed process decisions
• Carrying out planned and reactive operational and maintenance tasks, supporting the Maintenance Lead with more complex activities
• Conducting laboratory analysis, sampling and proactive monitoring of plant performance
• Recording analytical data and maintaining accurate information within computer-based monitoring systems
• Reviewing trends and performance data to identify improvements and support optimisation plans
• Purchasing and managing operational consumables, including chemicals
• Maintaining site housekeeping standards and participating in an on-call rota

Job Requirements:

• Experience in process operations, plant operations or a related water and wastewater environment
• Understanding of process control principles and effluent treatment processes
• Ability to monitor SCADA systems and respond appropriately to alarms and changing plant conditions
• Knowledge of operational monitoring, sampling and laboratory analysis procedures
• Ability to interpret plant performance data and use trends to support proactive decision-making
• Understanding of planned and reactive maintenance activities
• Commitment to safe working practices, environmental compliance and operational excellence
• Willingness to participate in an on‑call rota and work collaboratively with operational and maintenance teams
