Hi, I am Jenifer Dewar, Assistant Director for Family Help at Norfolk County Council.
Norfolk is a ‘Good’ authority with ‘exceptional leadership’. We value our Social Work Teams and all our practitioners.
This is an exciting time to join the frontline Social Work teams at Norfolk following the launch of our new Family Help operating model, which aligns with national reviews and government responses aimed at improving children and family services.
Family Help involves multi-disciplinary teams working collaboratively to meet children's needs, emphasizing relationships, direct work, and extended family networks for sustainable change.
Our teams consist of 22 Practitioners, including 7-8 Social Workers, alongside Family Support Workers, Specialist Practitioners, Assistant Managers, and Team Managers.
Cases are managed collectively, with targeted early interventions to improve outcomes, reducing intervention times and paperwork for Social Workers.
Young people are central to our practice. We seek practitioners who are committed to principles that support their development and well-being.
We offer a supportive environment that values wellbeing, flexibility, and professional growth.
We are looking for qualified Social Workers registered with Social Work England, experienced in Child Protection, Assessments, and Court Work, who are team players and share our vision for positive outcomes.
We encourage applications from underrepresented groups, including Black and Global Majority practitioners, and are committed to diversity and equality.
