About The Role
We are looking for an experienced Laboratory Technician to join our Facilities team at our Alderley Park site in Cheshire. This is a hands-on role where you will coordinate daily lab operations, provide support to our scientific teams, and help to maintain a safe laboratory environment. Role Responsibilities:
- Coordination of daily laboratory technician resources, working closely with other laboratory technicians in providing day to day support
- Serve as a key point of contact for scientific department lab captains
- Ensuring the completion of facilities core duties and tasks for efficient and safe working in the labs, including collection and distribution of deliveries, stock control, waste management, PAT testing, decontamination of equipment
- Management of consumable and chemical stock audits
- Aliquot preparation and stock control
- Use of Facilities helpdesk ticketing IT system to manage service requests and track completion
- Hosting of external engineers, contractors and suppliers and issuing of permit to work forms
- Ensure asset management and PAT testing is regularly conducted and kept up to date
- Ensure H&S is implemented in the workplace, including scheduled inspections of H&S equipment
- Travel between our Alderley Park and Tytherington sites to provide support as and when required
Candidate Requirements:
- Previous experience in facilities as a technician or senior technician
- Previous experience of working in a laboratory environment is essential and experience working within a CRO environment would be advantageous
- Strong understanding of lab equipment and basic maintenance requirements
- High awareness of health and safety practices in the workplace
- Ability to travel between Alderley Park and Tytherington where required
- Strong communication skills to liaise with the business
