Accounting Assistant

Accounting Manager

We are seeking talented individuals to join our growing team!

We are looking for an Accounting Assistant to join our Finance and Accounting team. You’ll work within a high-paced automation engineering business experiencing steep growth. Your role will involve supporting the Accounting Manager with a range of accounts and finance-related administrative tasks.

What would a typical day look like?
  1. Support in preparation of month-end or year-end close process including account reconciliations
  2. Reviewing timesheets to update the monthly payroll spreadsheet for inputting into the payroll and ERP system
  3. Perform bank and credit card reconciliations in compliance with company policy
  4. Provide cover and support the Accounts Payable process when necessary
  5. Support the Accounts Receivable function, including cash receipts and invoicing
  6. Assisting with annual audits, including gathering necessary documentation, preparing financial statements, and responding to audit queries.
  7. Supporting with cash flow predictions, analysing financial data to identify potential cash flow issues, and contributing to financial forecast models
  8. Weekly WIP reporting
  9. Various ad-hoc analysis and other duties as required
What qualifies you for this opportunity?
  • At least two years of experience within an Accounting department of a mid to large-sized organization would be an asset
  • Experience assisting with payroll – experience with Pegasus is highly preferred
  • Advanced level of Excel skills, working knowledge of MS Word and Outlook
  • Proficiency in ERP systems or accounting software packages is an asset
  • Must be self-directed with strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively problem solve
  • Organized and flexible to changing business conditions and a fast-paced work environment
  • Ability to work to strict deadlines
