Our client is an award-winning independent studio creating film, series, advertising, interactive entertainment, and attractions. They also distribute and license their brands. The company is fun, dynamic, creative, and busy.
We are looking for a qualified media lawyer with production experience to join the Business Affairs team on a fixed-term maternity cover contract. The role reports to the Head of Business Affairs.
The Business Affairs team provides commercial advice and legal services across all departments, including production, co-production, feature films, marketing, licensing, merchandising, commercials, and live events. They also handle intellectual property rights and brand protection.
The ideal candidate will have experience in TV and/or film production, with additional experience in rights, licensing/distribution, and media law. Responsibilities include negotiating and drafting talent and crew agreements, liaising with agents, managing production development agreements, music licensing, and post-production delivery requirements. The candidate should be able to lead legal support throughout productions, draft and negotiate agreements, and provide day-to-day legal advice.
We seek lawyers with proven drafting skills, adaptability across different agreement types, excellent communication, presentation, problem-solving, and negotiation skills.
