About Barnet Council
Barnet is a borough with much to be proud of. Our excellent schools, vibrant town centers, vast green spaces and diverse communities all help make it a great place to live and work. As a council we want to build on these strengths as we move into the future. We are growing and developing as an organisation to meet the challenges facing our borough and we are committed to working with partner organisations and residents to make Barnet even better. About the role
We are at an exciting point in this journey following a recent reorganisation to bolster Environmental Health service delivery. There is a new structure in place – all focused on rebalancing Environmental Health and delivering statutory functions using a risk-based and proportionate approach. Progress has been made but there is still a long and challenging journey ahead of us. That is why we are looking for extraordinary colleagues to join our team for what will undoubtedly be one of the most rewarding challenges of their careers.
We are looking for a health and safety inspector to lead a small team and undertake Health and Safety Enforcement across the borough. You will have previous local authority enforcement experience – this is essential. You may be a qualified Environmental Health Practitioner or a Health & Safety Practitioner. You will have responsibility for delivering the full range of health & safety enforcement functions including taking enforcement action.
