We are seeking a Junior Rapid Prototype Technician to support the Applied Science Manufacturing function. This is a fixed term contract opportunity until April 2026.
About the role:
Physically preparing and finishing model components to the required standard using tools and manual techniques.
Hands-on operation and maintenance of Rapid Prototype machines, ensuring efficient performance.
Ensuring safe operation of equipment, following manufacturer guidelines and department risk assessments.
Maintaining accuracy of deliveries by updating electronic status systems and handling parts efficiently.
Supporting machine programming activities with practical adjustments and setup work.
Implementing best practices in cost-effective manufacturing and surface finishing through hands-on processes.
Prioritising workload alongside Raid Prototype programmers to meet deadlines with a focus on practical execution.
Managing stock of consumables used in part preparation, including handling, storage, and replenishment.
Actively contributing to the development and refinement of departmental processes and procedures.
Candidate profile:
Good hand coordination and an eye for detail
Well organised and delivery focused, to meet on-time deadlines in a high pressured and time sensitive environment
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a team ethic attitude
Very high standard of care and attention to the quality and cleanliness of work, and the working environment
Excellent communication skills and meticulous attention to detail.
Experience in parts preparation and finishing is beneficial
