The International Council Advancing Independent School Accreditation ( ICAISA ) is a non-profit educational organization committed to advancing excellence and upholding standards in order to ensure quality and accountability in independent schools across the globe. ICAISA members are accrediting associations serving K-12 schools. ICAISA also offers engagement opportunities through our associate member tier and our sponsorship offerings.

Position Summary :

ICAISA is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Bookkeeper to support our financial operations. This part-time contract position is ideal for a candidate who is highly organized, dependable, proactive, and familiar with nonprofit accounting practices. The Bookkeeper will work closely with the Executive Director to maintain accurate financial records and ensure sound financial management for the organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day financial transactions, including accounts payable and accounts receivable, using QuickBooks Online
  • Reconcile monthly bank and credit card statements including matching expenses to receipts and categorizing expenses accordingly
  • Prepare quarterly financial reports for review by the Executive Director and Board
  • Process invoices, payments, and reimbursements in a timely and accurate manner
  • Process monthly payroll using ADP, ICAISA's current payroll provider and account for salary and payroll expense
  • Support the annual financial review and tax preparation process and issue annual 1099 documents
  • Maintain organized financial records and documentation
  • Provide general support for budgeting and forecasting

The ideal candidate will have:

  • 3+ years of bookkeeping experience, preferably in a nonprofit setting
  • Proficiency in QuickBooks Online, Bill.com, and Google Suite
  • Knowledge of nonprofit accounting principles and fund accounting
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset
  • Ability to work independently and manage deadlines
  • Familiarity with payroll systems and financial reporting
  • Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field preferred

Compensation: This is a part-time, contract position with an hourly rate commensurate with experience. The role is fully remote and offers flexible scheduling.
