As a Senior Electrical Engineer at Finch you will help our clients develop safe and sustainable solutions. This will involve travelling to our clients' sites, communicating with various levels within our client companies, identifying problems and coming up with solutions. We will train and support you so that you can manage every part of a project from proposals to writing the reports and project close out. You will build relationships with clients and colleagues to help grow Finch.

You will have the opportunity to work in various sectors such as construction, food and drink, agriculture, energy, manufacturing, theme parks and more. Our work is varied and frequently at the cutting edge, and we help our clients manage the risks associated with this.

We support all our new starters with a detailed 6 month onboarding programme, where you will learn how to be a Consultant, and the Finch processes. During this time you will be taught how to build relationships, identify work, write proposals and deliver reports. You will be introduced into the world of expert witnesses (and the court process) and have a separate training path which may lead to you providing expert evidence in court. We will support and develop you throughout your career at Finch.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Carry out PUWER inspections on new and existing machinery at our client’s sites
  • Conduct design reviews and assess conformity to design standards.
  • Review documentation to ensure compliance with standards.
  • Write and be involved in client proposals and the full project lifecycle
  • Manage your own time and projects to ensure they are delivered to budget and deadline
  • Undertake compliance assessments of electrical equipment, machinery, and process equipment.
  • Implement and interpret new regulations, ensuring adherence to industry standards.
  • Support expert witness work related to electrical engineering matters, including personal injury and commercial claims.

Qualifications

  • Achieved or working towards Chartership with a Professional Body (Mentorship can be provided)
  • 5 years of industrial experience
  • Experience of Control Systems
  • Experience with software programming (PLC, C+) would be beneficial but not essential
  • Functional Safety Engineer, would be beneficial but not essential
  • Experience in Machinery Safety Compliance (preferred)

Our community consists of consulting experts, support members and a network of associates working together to deliver asset management, process safety and health and safety services to our clients. We are known for being pragmatic with innovative ideas that have purpose and application. This is why our clients, from many diverse sectors, operating from single small sites or multiple global locations, refer us to others and invite us to work with them time and time again.

Our mission is to grow sustainably with our clients by helping them learn from failure and to embrace success. Wherever people, process and plant come together, our experts offer constructive and candid analysis of sensitive and complex issues.
