LEAD GAME ENGINEER - UNREAL
We are searching for a world-class Lead Game Engineer to manage and hold the technical vision for our growing engineering team on our new product. The ideal candidate will be ready to hit the ground running, providing a split of leadership and hands-on coding as the team and project take shape. You will be responsible for building and leading a small engineering team. The Lead Game Engineer is responsible for all technical aspects of the project. They will oversee the technical development to completion and lead the engineering team in the production of high-quality code and systems for the game.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Leading the engineering team to deliver a AAA quality product.
• Working closely with Art, Design and Story leads to understanding project requirements and translating those into technical teams and pipelines capable of achieving goals.
• Working with internal development teams and creative teams to coordinate delivery of project milestones.
• Working with production teams to scope, plan, schedule, and execute high-quality features and content.
• Managing day-to-day development issues, attempting to predict and avoid problems, while being prepared to troubleshoot and provide a resolution as needed.
• Promoting and cultivating a productive and energetic culture within the team and studio, while assisting and maintaining positive team morale and a productive work environment.

REQUIREMENTS

• 7+ years of game development experience.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
• Shipped at least two high-quality AAA video games for PC or Console.
• Hands-on experience with gameplay systems like AI, Animation, Combat, and Missions in Unreal Engine 4.
• Experience supporting artists with Shaders, Materials, and VFX in Unreal 4.
• Experience authoring and optimizing Blueprints in Unreal 4.
• Experience building and operating a live online multiplayer game service.
• Strong programming background and C++ knowledge.
• Ability to understand and improve development pipelines and processes.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to thrive in a collaborative environment with multiple stakeholders.
• Must love games.

DESIRABLE

• Experience with MMO or Open World game development.
• Experience with racing and third-person shooting gameplay.
• Experience working on a distributed team spread across several time zones.
