A leading financial institution in London seeks a skilled Audit Manager to oversee risk management and internal controls. The role involves managing audits, developing teams, and ensuring quality outputs. Ideal candidates will have strong analytical skills and relevant experience in audit or finance.
Manages all activities related to a specific aspect of the controls environment. For audits, this includes a comprehensive evaluation of risk management and internal controls, involving consultation with and assessment of departments such as Compliance, Technology, and Risk.
Oversees planning, implementation, and quality execution of audits, projects, or specialty assignments (e.g., Model Audit, Professional Practices).
Provides thorough and reliable information to senior management and offers thoughtful recommendations for improvements.
Develops and manages direct reports and teams, ensuring timely feedback, training, and career development.
Leads the implementation of audit group strategies and ensures quality output, including reports, presentations, and risk assessments.
Translates strategic objectives into an Audit Universe, Risk Assessment, and Audit Plan, prioritizing efforts effectively.
Manages projects to ensure they are completed on time, within budget, and meet quality and regulatory standards.
Leads project planning, including scoping and risk analysis, utilizing advanced business knowledge for strategic results.
Queries business clients and audit colleagues to understand processes and evaluate control risks.
Shares knowledge and supports intellectual capital within audit groups or across departments.
Engages in relevant training and applies new knowledge to enhance audit effectiveness.
Anticipates emerging issues or risks beyond routine assessments.
Proficient in statistical or modeling software and demonstrates advanced analytical skills.
Serves as an internal resource, guiding others in documentation, task completion, and learning new processes and regulations.
Monitors business, regulatory, and financial developments and associated risks.
Understands business strategies, processes, and regulations across multiple areas of the bank efficiently.
Ensures the writing of clear, analytical, and client-ready reports and documents.
Builds and maintains relationships with senior audit team members, external auditors, and senior business partners.
Manages multiple projects and relationships, responding effectively to critical needs and prioritizing workflows.
Leads professional staff or managers, overseeing financial and human resources, providing guidance, feedback, and motivation.
Ensures team goals are met, aligning with broader organizational objectives, modified as per local regulations.
Requires a Bachelor's degree or equivalent; degrees in accounting, finance, or relevant fields preferred. Certifications like MBA, CPA, CFA are advantageous.
Advanced degrees (e.g., PhD in Math, Statistics, Physics, Economics, Engineering) are preferred for modelers.
Relevant work and management experience, especially in audit or related areas, is preferred.
Core skills include analytics interpretation, critical thinking, and problem-solving.
