Job description

Job Title: Logistics Team Leader

Location: Welham Green

Contract: Full time / Permanent / 40 hrs per week Monday to Friday

Pay: GBP30k - GBP32k per year

My client is seeking an experienced and proactive Material Logistics Team Leader to oversee daily operations related to the movement, storage, and distribution of materials.

You will be responsible for the smooth running of the stores, cycle count, and dispatch functions.

Responsibilities:

1. Assist in leading the Material Controller to ensure optimum efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and product availability.
2. Be the first point of contact within goods-in and dispatch areas to resolve problems and issues as they arise.
3. Responsible for picking, packing, and final inspection operations within both goods-in and dispatch areas, maintaining high accuracy levels.
4. Encourage teamwork to ensure productivity and KPI targets are met.
5. Ensure full count of A, B, and C classification parts while meeting count targets.
6. Promote continuous improvement ideas by investigating and addressing root causes of inventory losses or gains.
7. Motivate team members to achieve maximum results while maintaining morale and job satisfaction.
8. Complete transactions for non-conforming parts with Epicor, ensuring high accuracy.
9. Work closely with the Material Logistics Supervisor to ensure quality standards are met.
10. Ensure compliance with company procedures as per the quality management system.
11. Fulfill all requirements of the dangerous goods act.
12. Liaise with manufacturing and planning departments to ensure raw materials are accurately accounted for.
13. Address stock discrepancies or quality issues efficiently, based on measurable data.
14. Follow all Health & Safety regulations.

Skills Required:

1. Experience in a busy warehouse environment.

3. Knowledge of manufacturing processes.
4. Ability to handle stock discrepancies and quality issues.
5. Good understanding of the dangerous goods act.
6. Knowledge of inspection processes.
7. Experience with UPS shipping software.
8. Experience leading a complex team.
9. Experience implementing lean management methodologies.
10. Flexi-truck forklift license is not essential.
