Job Title: Rigger

At Cavendish Nuclear we’re working to create a safe and secure world, together, and if you join us, you can play your part as a Rigger, at our Heysham, Lancashire site.

The role
As a Rigger, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. This role is instrumental in supporting EDF’s efforts to enhance the lifetime of a power station complex within the Nuclear industry.

Day-to-day, you’ll you will work as part of a team responsible for moving heavy loads using a variety of machinery.

  • Be team-orientated with a primary concern for the safety of self and others in the performance of your duties.
  • Responsible for delivery of work as per EDF requirements.
  • Responsible for maintaining compliance with site standards and expectations.


This role is full time, 37 hours per week and is based in Heysham, Lancashire.


Essential experience of the Rigger:

  • Procedure / task instruction compliance
  • Maintaining compliance within a regulated industry
  • Recognised Training Scheme or Apprenticeship with appropriate Construction Plant Competency Scheme (CPCS) Slinger/Signaller A40 (or equivalent)

Qualifications for the Rigger:

  • ECITB Level 3 Diploma in Engineering Construction Lifting, Positioning and Installing Structures, Plant and Equipment
  • NVQ Level 3 Diploma in Moving Loads
  • CCNSG Safety Passport (or equivalent)

Security Clearance
The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Counter Terrorist Check (CTC) security clearance for this role. Further details are available at United Kingdom Security Vetting: clearance levels - GOV.UK (www.gov.uk).
