Job description

Role: Enterprise Network Architect

Job Type: Permanent

Location: Coventry, UK (Hybrid)

Hours: 40 hours per week

The Role

The Network Architect will provide technical oversight and direction to a team of onshore and offshore network engineers. The role involves supporting engineering and service workloads for our client, leading the identification of growth opportunities, supporting transformation programs, and working on business-driven initiatives. The Network Architect will ensure network tools and infrastructure are maintained to deliver excellent service levels and will help finalize the future roadmap of the client’s network infrastructure. Some travel to site and out-of-hours work will be required.

Key Responsibilities

1. Serve as the Technical Design Authority, ensuring high- and low-level designs meet security, contractual, and service standards.
2. Develop and implement a technical architecture roadmap and strategy to maximize technology investment and reduce technical debt.
3. Oversee the integration of third-party SDWAN and hosted voice solutions.
4. Manage security, documentation, and reporting.
5. Drive the Automation roadmap.
6. Perform network modeling, analysis, and capacity planning.
7. Provide technical leadership to ensure business outcomes are achieved.
8. Build strong relationships with clients and vendors.
9. Hold third parties accountable for technical and operational standards.
10. Translate business requirements into technical solutions.
11. Ensure seamless integration of third-party solutions with existing systems.
12. Guide and mentor the engineering and service teams.
13. Create and assess the impact of changes.
14. Generate reports and technology roadmaps, conveying insights effectively.
15. Adhere to technical strategies, policies, standards, and practices.
16. Stay updated on emerging technologies and develop expertise in areas like cloud computing, SDN, and network security & automation.

Your Profile

Key Skills, Knowledge, and Experience

• Proven experience as a Senior Network Architect.
• Knowledge of LAN, WAN, Wi-Fi, data-center LAN, SD networks, telephony, mobile solutions, unified communications, network management, security, and remote access technologies.
• Experience with Cisco SDWAN and Mitel VOIP technologies.
• Strong understanding of Aruba networking products.
• Experience with Firewalls, including Fortigate and cloud firewalls.
• Ability to design and document end-to-end network solutions.
• Excellent communication skills, capable of explaining complex concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Leadership skills to guide and provide feedback to senior stakeholders.
• Awareness of industry trends and alternative products.
• Ability to work independently and within a distributed, agile team.

Nice to Have

• Experience with AWS and Azure cloud networking, VPCs, and transit gateways.
• Knowledge of Python, PowerShell, APIs, and Active Directory.
• Understanding of Mitel voice, DCI/NGNs, SIP, VOIP, and telephony.
• Meticulous and conscientious approach.
• Experience in large companies, supply chain, logistics, and related business processes.
