Join our dynamic Business Development Manager team in Glasgow, collaborating with our national team of BDMs. It's an exciting period at Quilter Cheviot, with a strong Modern MPS proposition and Climate Asset Funds boasting over 12 years of history. You will also work with our talented Investment Managers on discretionary and AIM services for clients with complex needs.

The ideal candidate should be based in or near Glasgow, have good knowledge of financial advice and advisers, possess at least a Level 4 industry qualification, and demonstrate an entrepreneurial spirit to explore new opportunities in this growing geographical area. This role offers an exciting challenge for an experienced BDM.

Reporting directly to the Head of Sales - North, you will collaborate with the Investment Management teams to attract new investment clients through Financial Advisers in the Glasgow region. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Promoting Quilter Cheviot's discretionary investment proposition, Climate Assets Funds, MPS solution, AIM portfolio, and other relevant services to financial advisers in the Glasgow area.
  • Establishing an annual target with the Head of Business Development - Advice for introducing new investment management business.
  • Meeting the new business target and other relevant KPIs.
  • Supporting the London region by driving new business opportunities.
  • Coordinating and agreeing with the Head of North Sales and Head of Business Development - Advice on target advisers and assigning investment managers for new services.
  • Agreeing on sales methods and initiatives with the Head of North Sales.
  • Providing regular reports to the relevant managers using standardised formats.
  • Developing and using a business plan template to classify advisers for focused efforts.
  • Cultivating relationships with Financial Advisers, focusing on onboarding new advisers and opening accounts.
  • Maintaining effective relationships with Advisers and Investment Managers.
  • Attending business development meetings as required.
  • Maintaining communication with Investment Directors, Managers, and senior sales staff.
  • Acquiring comprehensive knowledge of company products and services to advise on their suitability.
  • Keeping accurate records of contacts and visits in the CRM system.
Consumer Duty

Although this role doesn't directly interact with end customers, you need to understand our target market and evaluate the value of services for financial advisers to ensure positive outcomes.

About You
  • Proven Business Development Manager with expertise in the financial adviser sector.
  • Ability to manage workload independently with bi-weekly oversight.
  • Strong self-organization and personal responsibility skills.
  • Experience collaborating with marketing, investment teams, and sales across offices.

Ideal candidate will possess:

  • At least a Level 4 industry qualification – CISI, CFA, or equivalent.
  • Relevant experience in financial services within local markets.
  • A clean driving license.
