Job Description

Job Title: Electrician

Location: Glasgow – Govan and Scotstoun – Based on site and must be able to attend a recruitment day in Glasgow

Salary: £37,318.00 (additional shift allowance of 33% may be applicable)

Requirements: Trade Papers to be provided when submitting application

What you’ll be doing:
  1. Installation of various types of cables (multi-core, single core, co-axial) & electrical systems (junction boxes, fuse panels, consoles, transformers, switches, etc.)
  2. Cable termination and installation of all electrical equipment
  3. Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation
  4. Collaborate with shipbuilding teams to ensure timely and efficient completion of electrical installations
  5. Ensure all work complies with safety and quality standards
Your skills and experiences:
  • Modern Apprenticeship – SVQ 3 or equivalent
  • Relevant experience in marine or major industrial installation environments
  • Understanding of assessments, Risk, PUWER & COSHH
  • Understanding of relevant trade drawings
  • Knowledge of tag out process and dead proving procedures
  • Mounting of electrical equipment & components
  • Earthing of equipment and cable termination to workmanship standards
