About the team and the role

We are looking for a motivated individual responsible for all Payroll areas and supporting the Central Costs team with financial analysis & insight. You will process Monthly & Lunar payrolls for our Head Office & Customer Hub teams using our payroll system Cintra, building strong relationships with internal teams and external providers to ensure accurate and timely payroll operations. You will also business partner with Heads of Department to ensure central costs are within budget and identify opportunities for savings. You will review existing processes and drive continuous improvements across payroll and central costs. The role reports to the Finance Manager.

What you'll do

Monthly and Lunar Payroll:

• Check and process new starters, leavers & amendments (Bonus pay, pay increase, sickness, overtime, etc.)
• Check and process salary sacrifice schemes and deductions
• Pension processing and support
• Process family leave agreements
• Prepare P11d's and PSA (PAYE Settlement agreements)
• Support payroll-related queries & ad hoc queries for the People team
• Liaise with accounting team on monthly journals & balance sheet reconciliations & manage payroll controls
• Support payroll project work & ad hoc analysis

Finance Analyst:

• Prepare monthly cost centre reports and variance analysis for department heads
• Business partner with cost centre owners to ensure accurate cost control & forecasting
• Liaise with the People team on cost centre mappings and people movements
• Support the Finance Manager in reviewing and improving processes
• Drive continuous improvement in financial reporting

Who you are

• Experience with Monthly & Lunar Payroll
• Knowledge of payroll legislation and principles
• Familiarity with Cintra Payroll / Sage HR
• Experience with financial systems (SAP, Oracle, Hyperion, etc.)
• Strong Excel skills (Vlookup, Pivot tables, Sumifs)
• Excellent communication and stakeholder relationship skills
• Methodical, detail-oriented, organized
• Ability to work independently, prioritize, and meet deadlines
