Job summary

Searchability is seeking an eDV Systems Engineer in Cheltenham to design, implement and support secure IT systems across on-premise, hybrid and cloud environments. The role requires delivering highly available, resilient infrastructure while collaborating with engineering and delivery teams to solve complex technical issues.

• Experience with Linux and/or Windows Server.

• Experience with automation/configuration tools such as Ansible, Terraform, Puppet or Chef.
• Experience with monitoring and logging tools such as Prometheus, Splunk or Nagios.
• eDV clearance is essential.

• Up to £80,000
• Cheltenham - 4/5 days onsite per week

Due to continued demand across their technical environment, they are looking for an experienced Systems Engineer to design, implement and support secure, scalable and resilient IT systems.

THE SYSTEMS ENGINEER ROLE:

As a Systems Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, implementing and maintaining secure and resilient IT systems across on-premise, hybrid and cloud environments.

You will work closely with engineers, architects and delivery teams to ensure systems remain highly available, performant and secure, while also supporting complex technical issues and ongoing service improvements.

Key responsibilities include:

• Designing, implementing and supporting enterprise IT systems and infrastructure
• Managing systems across on-premise, hybrid and cloud environments

SYSTEMS ENGINEER ESSENTIAL SKILLS:

• Strong experience in Systems Engineering, Infrastructure Engineering or Systems Administration
• Experience with Linux and/or Windows Server
• Experience with AWS, Azure or GCP
• Understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP and firewalls
• Experience with VMware, Hyper-V or KVM
• Experience with automation/configuration tools such as Ansible, Terraform, Puppet or Chef
• Experience with monitoring and logging tools such as Prometheus, Splunk or Nagios
• Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills
• Understanding of security principles and system hardening
• Experience supporting enterprise IT environments
• eDV clearance is essential
