Job summary

TechShack is seeking an experienced Cloud Engineer with active eDV clearance to join a high-profile UK public sector programme. You will help design, deploy and secure cloud infrastructure in a national security context.

The role involves building resilient cloud services, automating via IaC, and collaborating with DevOps, Security and software teams. Prior UK government or defence experience is highly desirable and active clearance is preferred.

Qualifications

• Strong experience with AWS and/or Azure.
• Infrastructure as Code – ideally Terraform.
• Strong understanding of CI/CD, ideally Jenkins, GitHub Actions or Azure DevOps.
• Experience with Docker and/or Kubernetes.
• Strong Linux administration and troubleshooting skills.
• Experience with cloud networking, security and identity/access management.
• Scripting experience with Python, Bash or PowerShell.
• Experience working within UK Government, Defence or National Security environments is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Design, build and maintain secure cloud infrastructure and services.
• Support the deployment, configuration and management of cloud environments.
• Automate infrastructure and operational processes using Infrastructure as Code.
• Work closely with DevOps, Software Engineering and Security teams.
• Troubleshoot complex infrastructure and cloud-related issues.
• Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines and automated deployments.
• Ensure cloud environments meet stringent security, resilience and compliance requirements.
• Contribute to technical design and continuous improvement of the platform.
