Job summary

iO Associates is seeking an experienced Automation Test Engineer with active eDV clearance for a client in the National Security space. This role offers the chance to work across exciting projects on multi-year programmes. Start: ASAP.

Location: London & Milton Keynes. Duration: 6 months. You will develop automated tests in Python 3.13+, build and maintain test frameworks (PyTest, Playwright, Selenium, Robot Framework) and integrate testing into CI/CD pipelines such as GitLab CI/CD or Jenkins,

Qualifications

• Proven experience in automation testing roles (Automation Test Engineer, SDET or QA Automation).
• Hands-on Python 3.13+ for automated tests.
• Experience testing containerised apps with Docker.
• Build/maintain test frameworks (PyTest, Playwright, Selenium, Robot Framework).
• Test APIs, UIs, integration points and microservices.
• Integrate tests into CI/CD (GitLab CI/CD, Jenkins, etc).
• Collaborate with security teams to automate tests in pipelines.
• Familiarity with Git and tools like Jira, Azure DevOps, Confluence, TestRail.
• Exposure to Kubernetes/OpenShift/Helm/ArgoCD.
• Experience with AWS/Azure/GCP.
• Knowledge of Terraform/Ansible.
• Familiarity with ISO 27001/NIST.
• Experience with performance/load testing tools.

** Active eDV Cloearance is essential for this role, given the nature of the work/projects.**

• Proven experience as an Automation Test Engineer, Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET), QA Automation Engineer or similar role.
• Strong hands-on experience developing automated tests using Python 3.13+.
• Experience testing containerised applications using Docker.
• Experience building and maintaining automated test frameworks such as PyTest, Playwright, Selenium or Robot Framework.
• Experience testing APIs, user interfaces, integration points and microservices.
• Experience integrating automated testing into GitLab CI/CD, Jenkins or similar CI/CD platforms.
• Experience working alongside security teams to automate security testing within delivery pipelines.
• Familiarity with Git and requirements/test management tools such as Jira, Azure DevOps, Confluence or TestRail.
• Exposure to Kubernetes, OpenShift, Helm and ArgoCD.
• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure or Google Cloud Platform.
• Knowledge of infrastructure automation tools such as Terraform or Ansible.
• Familiarity with compliance and security frameworks including ISO 27001 or NIST.
• Experience with performance and load testing tools.
