Job description

Sirona Medical are currently looking for an Educational Psychologist in the Surrey area.

Pay rate - £1150 per day

Location - Surrey

Job description:
  • Supporting children and young people in their educational, home, and community settings. Using psychological principles and techniques to help those with learning, behavioral, or social-emotional difficulties. Collaborating with children, families, and professionals. This includes assessment, consultation, intervention, and professional development for school staff, often in collaboration with other agencies like the Virtual School and Mental Health Support Teams.
Responsibilities:
  1. Assessment and Diagnosis: Conduct psychological assessments to understand a child's strengths and needs, and recommend further assessments if needed (e.g., for ADHD) with other professionals.
  2. Consultation and Advice: Provide guidance to schools and other settings on supporting children's learning, behavior, and social-emotional development.
  3. Intervention and Support: Implement strategies to address learning difficulties, behavior problems, and emotional needs, including therapeutic support.
  4. Professional Development: Train school staff on topics such as emotional literacy, literacy for all, and supporting children with emotionally based school avoidance.
  5. Collaboration and Communication: Work with families, teachers, and other professionals to create a supportive environment for children and young people.
  6. Service Development: Contribute to the development of the Educational Psychology Service, including initiatives related to inclusion, diversity, and equity.
  7. Data Analysis and Research: Analyze data related to student learning and development to inform practice and service improvement.
  8. Supervision: Supervise trainees and support assistant EPs in their development.
  9. Continuing Professional Development: Participate in training and development opportunities to maintain expertise and knowledge.
