Job Title: Teaching Assistant – Class Assistant - Aspiring Clinical/Educational Psychologist - SEN – Woking

This role is based at a renowned SEN school in Surrey, providing a safe and supportive learning environment for children with complex needs, including Autism, Severe Learning Difficulties, and Physical Disabilities. The school offers therapies such as occupational therapy, physiotherapy, music, and speech and language therapy, integrated into the children's Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCP). Facilities include a therapy pool, sensory rooms, and I-Gaze technology, with on-site training to support career progression to roles like senior support assistants, teachers, or therapy assistants.

Responsibilities:
  • Supporting children before, during, and after lessons
  • Assisting children in understanding and engaging with tasks appropriately
  • Promoting social skills development
  • Maintaining individual student records
  • Building confidence and motivation among pupils
  • Participating in team meetings and training sessions
  • Supporting the organisation's culture and safeguarding regulations
  • Providing medical and personal care support as needed (training provided)
Candidate Profile:

Ideal for psychology graduates interested in clinical or educational psychology, with a keen interest in working with children with special needs. Flexibility for full-time or part-time roles, with various contracts available, starting from May 2024 for one year.

Additional Details:
  • Rate: £83 to £90 per day (9:00 am - 3:30 pm, Monday to Friday)
