Job summary

Wolverhampton City Council is seeking an experienced Educational Psychologist to join on a locum basis. The role involves providing psychological services to support children and young people, working with schools, families, and professionals to promote positive educational outcomes.

Responsibilities include assessments, reporting, and delivering training to staff. A HCPC registration and full UK driving licence are required, with face-to-face visits across Wolverhampton.

Qualifications

• HCPC registration as an Educational Psychologist.
• Proven experience in educational psychology within a local authority or similar setting.
• Strong knowledge of SEND legislation and best practices.
• Excellent communication and report-writing skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage a varied caseload.
• Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Conduct psychological assessments and provide interventions for children and young people.
• Collaborate with schools, families, and multi-agency teams to support learning and well-being.
• Prepare detailed reports and recommendations based on assessments and observations.
• Deliver consultations and training sessions to educational staff and stakeholders.
• Ensure compliance with statutory requirements and local authority policies.
• Travel across Wolverhampton for face-to-face visits (driving essential).
