Job summary

Cumberland Council is looking to recruit two Main Grade Educational Psychologists to join Cumberland's Psychology Service, supporting schools and settings across North and West Cumbria, including the Lake District. The service is high-performing, friendly, and values learning, peer support, and a strong community of practice.

Successful applicants will deliver high-quality advice, act as named EP for groups of schools, and uphold HCPC standards while collaborating with partner agencies.

Qualifications

• Membership or registration with HCPC (or equivalent) and ongoing professional development.
• Ability to work within a multi-agency environment and deliver evidence-based practice.
• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting children's wellbeing.

Responsibilities

• Enhance outcomes for children, schools, and families by applying psychology to promote inclusion and improve quality of life.
• Act as the named Educational Psychologist for a group of schools/settings, delivering high-quality, efficient services.
• Provide expert advice to support Cumberland Council's statutory commitments and priorities.
• Collaborate with other agencies and partners to ensure coordinated, integrated service delivery.
• Champion person-centred approaches to engage children, young people, and their families.
• Contribute to the development of Cumberland Psychological Service, including performance improvement initiatives and cross-team support.
• Maintain HCPC standards, engage in supervision and appraisal, and uphold professional development.
• Promote awareness of the service's achievements and foster community engagement.
