Job summary

BCP Council in Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole is recruiting Educational Psychologists to support children and young people aged 0-25. Your work will shape educational journeys, help schools meet diverse needs, and collaborate with families, schools and multi-agency partners to promote inclusion and wellbeing.

You will apply psychology to improve outcomes, advocate for pupils, and contribute to statutory duties, safeguarding and CPD.

Qualifications

  • Honours degree in Psychology or equivalent.
  • HCPC registration (or eligibility).
  • Educational Psychology qualification or be currently in training.
  • Experience delivering a broad range of Educational Psychology casework.
  • Experience in training, promoting inclusion, and working with vulnerable children.

Responsibilities

  • Apply psychology to improve outcomes for children and young people.
  • Collaborate with parents, schools and partners to promote inclusion.
  • Meet statutory duties for vulnerable children, including SEND.
  • Stay current with professional practice while managing workload effectively.
  • Contribute creatively as part of a supportive, multidisciplinary team.
  • Deliver high-quality traded services to schools, including consultation, assessment, intervention and progress monitoring.
  • Support inclusive practice through co-production and a Graduated Response to SEND.
  • Provide safeguarding-compliant, child-centred support at all times.
  • Deliver professional development and contribute to critical incident response for educational settings.
