Post: Education Welfare Officer
Contract Type: Permanent

Salary Range: Grade 6, SCP 23 - 25, (£34,434 - £36,363) (FTE, Salary to be pro rata)

Working Type: Full Time [37 hours, 39 weeks]
Base: Buile Hill Academy, Eccles Old Road, Salford, M6 8RD

Please note: The post holder will be engaging in regulated activity, working mainly or wholly with children. This position is exempt from the rehabilitation of offender’s act 1974. It is an offence to apply for this role if you are barred from engaging in regulated activity relevant to children.

Role context

Buile Hill Academy is looking to appoint an enthusiastic and dynamic Education Welfare Officer to join our team.

Responsibilities
  • Help families improve their children’s access to learning and enable all children and young people to maximise their educational opportunities, especially those vulnerable groups that may need additional support
  • Identify those children in need of support by reason of their behaviour, absence from academy, family dysfunction, disability, social or emotional needs or any other special educational needs
  • Assess needs, plan interventions, implement effective action and evaluate outcomes against agreed objectives.
  • Assist the academy to safeguard students through joint work with partner agencies.
