Job summary

Liskeard School And Community College is seeking an Attendance Advisor to work across our schools, promoting positive attitudes to regular student attendance and helping schools meet their legal obligations.

You will liaise with attendance teams and the Education Welfare Service to access support and guidance as required, while maintaining confidentiality and following education laws and practices.

Qualifications

  • Strong understanding of education law and practices relating to school attendance.
  • Ability to provide guidance in line with legislation.
  • Good interpersonal skills for working with staff, young people and families.
  • Sensitivity, discretion and confidentiality in handling information.
  • Excellent administrative and organisational skills.

Responsibilities

  • Promote positive attitudes towards regular student attendance across schools.
  • Improve attendance levels and support schools in fulfilling their legal obligations.

Job description

The role involves working across our schools promoting positive attitudes towards regular student attendance, improving attendance levels and supporting schools in fulfilling their legal obligations. You will liaise closely with our school attendance teams in managing attendance and will have regular liaison with the local authority Education Welfare Service in accessing appropriate support and advice as required.
