Job description

Build the desk. Own the territory. Grow the team.

This is an opportunity for an experienced recruiter to take ownership of a SEND recruitment territory across the East Midlands, build a high-performing billing desk and, as the area grows, have the opportunity to build a team around you.

Our Teachers UK team, backed by the wider Operam Education Group, has a strong reputation for placing talented education professionals into schools across the region. You'll have the opportunity to develop your own market, win new business, grow existing relationships and build a strong candidate network with the support, expertise and infrastructure of one of the UK's fastest-growing education recruitment groups behind you.

We're looking for someone who enjoys the commercial side of recruitment: winning business, building relationships, growing revenue and seeing the results of the desk you've built.

Education recruitment experience would be great, but it isn't essential. If you've successfully built a desk and have a strong track record of billing in another recruitment sector, we'd like to hear from you.

As your territory develops, so does the opportunity. The longer-term aim is to build a team around a successful billing operation, giving you the opportunity to progress into people leadership and take greater ownership of the region.

You'll be supported by our wider Group teams, including Talent Acquisition, Marketing, Partnerships, Key Accounts, Compliance and Business Support, giving you the infrastructure to focus on what you do best.

And, of course, every placement has a wider purpose. The professionals you place help schools maintain continuity, support teaching teams and create stable learning environments for pupils across the region.

Our Employee Benefits
  • Up to 34 days annual leave, plus bank holidays
  • Enhanced sick pay from 2 years' service
  • Life Assurance
  • Employee Assistance Programme
  • Birthday day off
  • Wellbeing day off
  • 3 Pledge Days per year for volunteering
  • Eye care support
Your Role
  • Take ownership of and grow your own SEND recruitment territory across the East Midlands
  • Build and manage a high-performing temporary recruitment desk, with personal billing and revenue responsibility
  • Win new business and develop strong, long-term relationships with schools and clients
  • Source, interview and place high-quality education professionals into temporary roles
  • Manage the full recruitment lifecycle, from candidate attraction through to placement and ongoing client management
  • Build a strong reputation and candidate network across your territory
  • Take ownership of your KPIs, consistently achieving and exceeding agreed targets
  • Work closely with our Key Accounts and Partnerships teams to maximise opportunities across your region
  • Contribute to a driven, ambitious team culture and lead by example
  • As your desk grows and agreed milestones are achieved, take the opportunity to recruit and develop your own team
What You’ll Bring
  • Proven recruitment experience, with a strong track record of billing, exceeding targets and growing revenue
  • Experience of building and developing a recruitment desk, territory or client base
  • A genuine hunter mentality you’re motivated by winning new business, developing relationships and growing your market
  • Strong commercial awareness and the ability to identify and convert new opportunities
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, with the confidence to influence clients, candidates and colleagues
  • Ambition, drive and ownership you set high standards for yourself and take responsibility for your results
  • The ambition to progress beyond personal billing and, in time, build and lead a team
  • Education recruitment experience would be advantageous, but strong billing experience from another recruitment sector will also be considered
  • A passion for making a tangible difference through the people you place
  • Ideally, a full driving licence and access to your own vehicle to visit clients across the region. If you are learning to drive or don’t currently drive, please let us know on your application we can discuss alternatives if you’re shortlisted.

Ready to build something of your own?

We’re looking for someone who wants more than just their next recruitment desk, someone who wants to build a market, deliver results and have the opportunity to build a team around it.
