Job summary

Bury College is seeking casual Education Support Workers to assist learners during term time. The role involves in-class support, aiding students with mobility or sensory needs, and helping with personal care where required.

You will support inclusion, help learners participate in college life, and coordinate with staff to meet individual needs. Candidates should have a recognised support work qualification and be prepared for safeguarding checks, including an online search.

Qualifications

• Recognised qualification in support work or equivalent
• Minimum A*-C grades in Maths and English or equivalent
• Experience with learners with additional needs preferred

Responsibilities

• In-class support to ensure learner participation and communication
• In and out of class support for learners with mobility or sensory impairments, including personal care
• Support learners with learning difficulties or disabilities to take part in college life and reach their learning goals
• Facilitate inclusion by supporting appropriate behaviour
• Ensure reasonable adjustments are met
• Support social skills, work experience, and educational trips and visits
• Contribute to support strategies that promote individual independence
• Liaise with teaching and support staff to meet individual support needs
