Job summary

YMCA Brighton seeks an Education Support Worker to join our Alternative Education Team, supporting students and families within a wider professional network.

You may be the main point of contact for the young person and carers, coordinating weekly timetables and participating in multi-agency meetings to ensure a joined-up approach that helps young people move forward and engage with opportunities.

Qualifications

• Support students to access opportunities and participate in activities.
• Coordinate weekly timetable with professionals and attend multi-agency meetings.
• Ensure safeguarding and data protection compliance.

Responsibilities

• Positively engage with young people, support, and assist them to access opportunities.
• Identify strengths, needs and aspirations and develop an action plan that supports improved outcomes including EHCP considerations.
• Support attendance and participation in activities and training, providing practical support for events and appointments.
• Ensure the effective and efficient implementation of agreed policies and procedures.
• Safeguard young people and vulnerable adults, following safeguarding/child protection procedures.
• Identify and address health and safety issues in line with policies.
• Maintain accurate records in line with data protection and confidentiality.
• Contribute to project planning, attend team meetings and communicate with stakeholders.
