Job summary

Vision for Education is seeking a dedicated Youth Worker to support students aged 11-16 in an alternative provision in Redditch.

You will build trusted relationships, implement behaviour support, and help pupils re-engage with learning while developing social and emotional skills.

Hours are 8:30am to 3:30pm, Monday to Friday, with ongoing or temp-to-perm opportunities. You will work 2:1 or in small groups, delivering personalised support and contributing to a calm, structured learning environment.

Qualifications

• Background in PRUs, SEMH settings or alternative provisions.
• Calm, resilient and confident in challenging situations.
• Empathetic, patient and able to build strong relationships.
• Willing to undergo safeguarding training and DBS checks.

Responsibilities

• Provide personalised assistance to secondary students aged 11-16 with behavioural difficulties.
• Work 2:1 or in small groups to manage behaviour.
• Implement behaviour support plans or IEPs.
• De-escalate challenging situations using positive behaviour strategies.
• Help create a safe, structured, and supportive classroom environment.
• Support students' learning alongside their behaviour needs.
• Help maintain a calm and productive classroom atmosphere.
