A forward-thinking school in Newcastle is seeking an enthusiastic Education Support Worker to provide tailored support for students with additional needs. Ideal candidates will have a background in psychology or childcare and a passion for supporting children's educational and emotional growth. Teaching Personnel are recruiting on behalf of a school based in Newcastle, a forward-thinking school committed to providing an inclusive and supportive learning environment for all students. We are seeking an enthusiastic and compassionate Education Support Worker with a background in psychology or childcare to join the team from September 2025.
As an Education Support Worker, you will play a vital role in helping students overcome barriers to learning and emotional challenges. Your understanding of child development and psychological principles will help create a nurturing environment where every child can thrive.
You will work closely with teachers and the school's SENCO to deliver tailored support for students with additional needs, including one-to-one and small group interventions.
Supporting pupils' social, emotional, and educational development using your knowledge of psychology and childcare
Assisting with individualised learning plans and behavioural strategies
Working alongside teaching staff to create a positive classroom environment
Monitoring and recording student progress and sharing insights with the team
Communicating effectively with pupils, staff, and parents to provide holistic support
A graduate in Psychology, Childcare, Early Years, or a related field
Passionate about working with children and young people
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Experience working with children, gained through placements, volunteering, or internships, is desirable
Ability to adapt to the needs of a busy school environment and work as part of a team
Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children (DBS clearance required)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
