Job summary

Penryn College in Cornwall is seeking an Education Support Officer to work proactively with students identified as needing support to overcome barriers to learning. You will diagnose barriers, maintain Behaviour Plans, and liaise with parents, staff and support services.

You will gather evidence, document progress, and present monitoring outcomes to Senior Leadership Team. The role requires collaborative work within the Education Support Team to help SEND/SEMH/Behaviour pupils achieve progress

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and remove barriers to learning for identified students.
• Write and maintain a Behaviour Plan for identified students and liaise with parents, staff and support services.
• Gather relevant evidence to document progress and articulate monitoring meetings with SLT.
• Ensure communication surrounding plans, actions and interventions is clear and understood.
• Support identified pupils to maintain at least good discipline and progress in lessons and around the school.
• Collaborate with parents to help their children overcome barriers to learning both inside and outside the school.
• Participate in duties and investigations as required as part of the Education Support Team.
• Support accelerated progress and attendance through targeted learning plans.
