Job summary

Caritas Recruitment Limited is recruiting an experienced Safeguarding Manager to work with Nottingham City Council, providing leadership and management of safeguarding across education settings.

The role requires strong knowledge of KCSIE, experience in multi-agency safeguarding, and the ability to drive improvements and training across schools, with clear reporting and stakeholder engagement.

Qualifications

• Significant safeguarding leadership experience within education or children's services.
• Strong knowledge of KCSIE, safeguarding legislation and statutory responsibilities.
• Experience of multi-agency safeguarding and partnership working.
• Experience supporting schools through inspections, audits or safeguarding improvement activity.
• Ability to provide strategic leadership while effectively managing operational safeguarding issues.
• Excellent stakeholder management skills, particularly with headteachers and senior leaders.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage safeguarding activity across education settings.
• Provide advice, challenge and support to headteachers and senior staff.
• Ensure safeguarding practice aligns with KCSIE and national guidance.
• Oversee complex safeguarding concerns, cases and escalations.
• Monitor safeguarding performance, QA and improvement plans.
• Support schools with safeguarding audits, inspections and reviews.
• Develop and deliver safeguarding training and guidance.
• Collaborate with schools, Children's Social Care, Police and health partners.
• Contribute to service development and continuous improvement.
