RSB is seeking a part-time Education Policy Officer to support the Science Education Policy Alliance (SEPA), a partnership that includes the Association for Science Education, Institute of Physics, Royal Society, Royal Society of Biology, and Royal Society of Chemistry. RSB acts as the host organisation for SEPA and provides secretariat support.
The officer will work closely with the Head of Education Policy, SEPA Chairs, and other leads to advance SEPA’s aims in three priority areas: investment in science education, influencing curriculum and assessment reform, and building on SEPA’s successes. Responsibilities include providing administrative support, coordinating with organisations, engaging stakeholders, drafting communications and publications, and supporting SEPA events.
This role involves supporting a partnership of five organisations focused on policy related to science teaching and learning, primarily in primary and secondary schools in England. Suitable candidates may include: a primary science lead or secondary science teacher seeking to transition out of the classroom; a science education professional returning after a career break; or someone with experience in education engagement, communications, or policy.
